I’M CHRIS BOSTOCK
Online and In Person Trainer
My name is Chris Bostock, I am 32, an ex-professional acrobat and I live in North Lincolnshire, England.
I have been in and around fitness, sports and training my whole life. From an early age I knew something revolving around fitness was my calling - whether it was being a professional skateboarder, a weightlifting world touring musician or a hyperactive ninja . . . it’s funny how things end up.
I studied sports at high school while competing on as many teams as I could, going on to pursue it at college and also at University. I got heavily into skateboarding when I was a child and would skate most days until I was in my late teens, going to competitions and traveling around the UK meeting people and exploring through numerous cities. While doing this I realised how much I loved to teach and learn skateboarding and sports in general - this lead me into becoming a swimming instructor at 16.
Around a similar time I learned about parkour and then later on tricking - and I was hooked. I stopped skateboarding as much and dived head on into learning how to flip around and become . . . well . . . a hyperactive ninja. I qualified as a gymnastics instructor and after leaving University my life became about teaching gymnastics, learning flips and travelling around the world to compete in tricking competitions.
In my early to mid 20’s I started to get invited to events around the world to give workshops and seminars on tricking. During this time I got to meet with many high level coaches in many different sporting disciplines and was able to pick their brains around training techniques, fitness and health in general. It fascinated me, and I knew it would make me better at my sport so I started burying my head in exercise science books, training manuals, workout programmes - anything and everything I could get my hands on to learn more about the body, how it works and how I can improve.
Toward my late 20’s I started doing commercial acrobatics jobs for theatre shows, TV work, Expo’s, festivals, clothing companies and even performing as a backing dancer for Justin Bieber at the Brit Awards - but I knew that performing wouldn’t last forever and I wanted to start passing on my knowledge to others, to help them understand their bodies, to move better, to become fitter and healthier
I decided to focus on becoming a personal trainer and after getting my qualifications I jumped into training in 2018 and have not looked back since. I have the pleasure of training people from all corners of the globe, from all walks of life and all skill levels every week and I couldn’t ask for anything more.
